MISSION STATEMENT: To establish and maintain a stable resource for creative independents to ensure they gain the support for their creative energies. VISION STATEMENT: The non profit organization will achieve its mission by providing an outlet of creative avenues, direction through advisors on art, film, and writing; thus helping promote independent creativity in our communities. What Is GIRAF Network? It is an acronym for the Georgia Independent Resource:Art & Film Network. When trying to succeed against impossible odds in the mainstream of art, film, and writing, a creative individual needs to seek out a valid and dependable support mechanism that will enable the individual to feel that their efforts have not gone in vain.Too many of us have found ourselves "hung out to dry" so to speak to ally ourselves. GIRAF Network is here to help provide such support and provide that assistance to ones qualifying for receiving aid and more importantly ones who desire to be successful! Who Is Behind This GIRAF Network? The movement was spear-headed by many creative individuals out of the independent and small press industries, who have sought to have their creative thoughts heard and shared with the general public. We are the ones who have always said that this type of non-profit organization needed to be developed to help people like ourselves, those seeking aid in our creative proposals. We can not say that the corporate world or government holds no sway here as they are often the sources we have to turn to for our financial assistance, whether through advertising or by grants we obtain for those seeking them. In an effort to answer that main question, we should all be the ones behind the GIRAF Network movement. As members, we are the ones in our fields begging for such aid. What Are We Doing Now? Events, Projects, & Programs GIRAFNetwork is designed to implement and maintain a constant present within the Georgia communities for the Arts & Humanities with it's directed efforts for those creative individuals. We have planned events to occur throughout Georgia during the coming months. What follows is a basic outline of prospected programs, projects, and events we need the board's assistance with. Programs: Arts Awareness in Public Education Projects: Online Free Image Library Resource Events: Scheduled Art Conventions Why should I Ask For Their Help? Each of us at one time or another has come up with a fresh concept with which to explore through our mediums only to hit a "brick wall" when it comes to seeing it become a reality. GIRAF Network is seeking to ally itself with creative members and assist them in any way we can. Let's see that dream come true. Everyone has the right to have their story told to those who want to listen. GIRAF Network understands and respects those rights. By asking questions, we all can become more aware of how our industry works wonders. What does it mean to be Non Profit? There are many terms applied and sometimes mistakenly taken up by organizations choosing a public oriented impacting entity in the national economy. The term non-profit is a type of Non Gain Organization but the only charitable organization open to be applied to many groups. Not-for-profit groups can act in many ways with the public interest at heart, even bolstering the creative outcome of said community. This type of organization still is aimed at helping like a non-profit organization but doesn't have the same recognition in the federal eyes for tax exempt status. We at GIRAFNetwork are a true federally recognized tax exempt charitable organization whose efforts are aimed at being a resource for positive action in the communities of the Southeast, along the lines of the Arts, Humanities, & Education. How can I get GIRAFNetwork to aid my school/college? GIRAFNetwork can make arrangements to come and speak to any school/college in the Southeastern states about our organization, its programs that can be instituted in the Art Awareness in Education, Empowering Through Visualization, the H2Club, and the free resources available to the public to further creative education. Implementation of our programs can be arranged with additional staff and finances in your community but only need to be orchestrated by individuals like ourselves in motive, activity, and artistic drive. Please contact our Georgia-based organization by email with your questions, requests, and proposals so that we may get in touch with you to come to an agreement for your situation.
